What’s your answer?
All of it…
If you have read any of my Midlife Wife posts you will get the sense that I wanted to start many things earlier in my life.
Marriage:
Everyone, well probably most people, want to marry the love of their life. The love of my life just took a little longer to realize it. 😊 We started dating in 2007 and I knew with in six months that this man was who i wanted forever. He on the other hand was not on the path of marriage because he had been there before. Many times my now husband said that we are in it forever but that marriage was out of the question because of how his first marriage went. However, on a vacation to Cancun in year 17 he asked and of course I said yes!
I always think though, how much further in our life would we be if we got married 10 years ago. Like I have said in previous posts, what if it’s too later for the next one.
Kids:
My husband didn’t want children if we weren’t married but also didn’t want to get married. I understand that but now that we are married we are trying for at least one kid… but like I said, What if it’s too late. Maybe 10 years ago it would have been easy but I’m 40 years old with health issues.
Having a child at 40 or even 45 isn’t as unthinkable now-a-days like it was decades ago but I have a gut feeling that it will be just too late for me because of my health. He is confident that it will happen and I am trying to use his confidence to boost myself.
Farm:
I have always, ALWAYS, wanted to have a small farm. I little homestead to sustain us and to sell some of our crops, eggs, and, with cottage laws, some simple baked goods. I have always been the kind of person that wants a simple old fashioned life. A small farm, kids laughing in the grass, chickens pecking around the porch, but that might be out of reach now.
