Becoming a DINKY

What is a DINKY?

Duel Income, No Kids YET. Key word is yet.. because we decided to try, but we weren’t always in that category.

Before this month actually we were considered a DINK. Duel Income, No Kids.

This is an acronym that my husband and I used for ourselves for many years. This usually refers to a working couple, married or not, who are voluntarily childless. To be completely honest, on my side it wasn’t so voluntary. It was more that I love the person I’m with and if I have to push something I want aside than that is what I will do.

I do fear that it is too late though. This year I turn 40 years old but we can tough on that story a different day.

One of the things I want to explore in the blog is the transition from Duel Income, No Kids (not wanting them), to Duel Income, No Kids YET.

The thoughts, feelings, and process of changing how we felt (or he felt) about having kids and how it has effected us and others.
